Odisha CM lauds Virat Kohli for his exemplary performance against New Zealand

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today heaped praises on Virat Kohli as the country’s run machine broke multiple records during the WC semifinal clash against New Zealand.

Taking to his personal ‘X’ handle, the Chief Minister wrote, “Congratulate @imVkohli for creating history by scoring record 50th ODI century at the crucial semifinal of #ICCCricketWorldCup23. May he continue to showcase his outstanding form and bring glory to the nation. Wish him all the very best. #INDvsNZ.”

Worth mentioning, Virat Kohli surpassed India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli scored the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket. The former Indian cricket team captain slammed his 50th ODI stack against an ill-fated New Zealand bowling attack during the Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinal at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kohli looked in tremendous form and he was able to reach the milestone in 106 balls with the help of 8 fours and a six.
