Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced Peoples Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability (PEETHA), an initiative to create awareness about various schemes of the State government and improve transparency in distribution of individual and social benefits.
The initiative is a part of the 3-T initiatives of Technology, Transparency and Teamwork and a sub-scheme of the Ama Gaon Ama Vikas scheme.
Under this programme, awareness camps on various state government schemes will be organised at gram panchayat level from 15th-20th every month starting from this month, an official communication said.
Alongwith distribution of benefits of various schemes like Mission Shakti, Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, Artists Pension, and any other individual benefit as per local benefit would be taken up in the camps.
Block level observers will monitor the scheme and Voluntary Social workers will assist in its implementation.
Every month, the best Panchayat in each block will be awarded with Rs 5 lakh for organising PEETHA, an official said.
