Odisha CM lists out 9-point mantra for districts to fight against COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Exuding confidence of a win in the fight against deadly COVID-19, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the District Administrations to form COVID Care Committees at gram panchayats level.

While listing out a nine-point mantra for winning the battle against the virus in the month of July during a video conferencing with District Collectors and SPs, the Chief Minister said provide fund and training, allocate more power and assistance the COVID Care Committees.

The CM stressed on the need for creation of Covid Care Home in every GP, TMC and cluster GP.

The CM also directed officials to get feedback from COVID-19 infected persons. “I have being talking to Covid infected warriors to collect feedback. So far the feedback is good. I want senior officials to do the same. It will motivate the COVID infected persons in a great way,” the CM said.

“Take care of Covid warriors as they are running extra mile to save people. They should be sensitized in protecting themselves,” Patnaik added.

“Private hospitals in the State must be sensitised and frequent random checks must be taken up at these places,” he said.

The Chief Minister stressed on making the government officers as zero infected zone. “Senisitise the staff on dos and don’ts. We should be made strict in protecting our institutions. Every head of office will be made responsible for these,” he said.

He asked the police and district administration to have on zero tolerance on mask and social distancing norm violators. “We are three months into the pandemic. Now, we should be tough against the violators,” the CM said.

He directed the Collectors to prepare special strategies for hotspots in their districts.

“Every department of the State government must be actively involved in the war against COVID-19. So far we are doing well and I am sure we will continue with this good work,” the CM said.
