Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik expressed their grieve over demise of Padma Shri Kamala Pujari.
Offering condolence to bereaved family of the veteran tribal woman, CM announced full state honours for funeral of Padma Shri Kamala Pujari, who passed away under treatment in Cuttack today morning.
"Late Kamala Pujari was an extraordinary, virtuous and sacrificial woman. By preserving seeds of hundreds of indigenous paddy and other crops and promoting organic farming, she was preserving a beautiful future for human society. Her invaluable contribution to the protection of the environment will never be forgotten by the state and the country. Her demise is an irreparable loss to entire country," CM Majhi said in a statement.
LoP and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also condoled the death of Pujari.
In his condolence message, Patnaik said that late Kamala Poojary has made a great contribution towards food security as well as environmental protection in the future by creating awareness about the traditional methods of conservation and organic farming of hundreds of our native paddy seeds.
Her demise is an irreparable loss to the society, he added.
Padma Shri Kamala Pujari breathed her last at 5 AM today at the SCB Hospital. She was suffering from kidney-related ailments for a long time.
