Keonjhar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi today visited his hometown in Keonjhar district for the first time after assuming office.

Majhi received a warm welcome from people, who were eagerly waiting for the new CM, after he reached Ghatagaon.

He held a roadshow from Ghatagaon High School ground to the famous Maa Tarini Temple, where his wife Priyanka Marndi was waiting after having darshan of Goddess Tarini.

"We felt proud after Majhi was elected as the Chief Minister of the state," CM's wife said.

Thousands of people gathered on both sides of the road to have a glimpse of the CM. He waved at people expressing his gratitude. During the roadshow, he also received grievance letters from people promising them to address their issues.

Majhi is on a two-day visit to Keonjhar district starting today. After offering prayer at at Maa Tarini Temple, the CM is scheduled to a felicitation ceremony and public meeting at Keonjhar, his assembly constituency, in the afternoon and stay at night there. He will visit his native place Raikala under Keonjhar Sadar area tomorrow morning. He is scheduled to address a public meeting at the locality after participating in a roadshow from Raikala to Jhumpura.
