Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will regularly hold the hearing of public grievances at a designated cell in Bhubaneswar from July 1, an official source informed today.
The hearing of public grievances will begin at 11.00 AM in the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell in Unit-5 locality. Registration for the CM’s hearing will be done between 9.00 AM and 12 Noon on the same day during a public grievance hearing.
Besides, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) will resume hearing grievances from July 1, which will be done every Monday (except government holidays) between 11.00 AM and 1.30 PM.
The public hearing that was conducted on Monday every week was stopped from March 16 due to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) imposed by the Election Commission of India for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha.
People can file their complaints and grievances during the public hearing to be conducted in the BDA office.
Hearing of Monday Public Grievances and Joint Hearing will also resume from July 1, a notification earlier issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) department mentioned.
“Hearing of Monday Public grievances in all Departments of Government, Heads of Departments and Joint Hearing of Public Grievances held by Collectors and Superintendents of Police in their respective districts has to be resumed w.e.f. 01.07.2024 on the orders of the Hon’ble Chief Minister,” the official circular issued in this regard stated.
The public grievances received for hearing must be registered on the ‘Jana Sunani’ portal for official records, the Department emphasised.
Previously, the CM was meeting people and addressing their grievances at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar for nearly the last 18 days since he took the oath of office and secrecy as Odisha Chief Minister.
According to the source, the GA&PG department Additional Chief Secretary Surendra Kumar visited the Grievance Cell and took stock of the available infrastructure. He reviewed sitting arrangements being made for the CM and the public.
The Additional Chief Secretary discussed with officials concerned about barricading to facilitate the smooth movement of people. Sitting arrangements are being made for 30 persons during the hearing of public grievances. Adequate provision for drinking water will also be made. Everything will be in place in the next two days, the source added.
Worth mentioning that residential accommodation for the new CM is underway. The CM is presently residing in the State Guest House here. Sharma also reviewed an ongoing renovation of CM's government quarters.
