Odisha CM moves resolution over reservation for govt school students in med, engg colleges

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today moved a resolution in the Legislative Assembly regarding 15 per cent reservation for government school students in engineering and medical colleges of the state.

The resolution was passed unanimously in the House.

In December, last year, the State Cabinet had approved the reservation of seats for eligible government school students in engineering and medical colleges. The reservation will be implemented from next academic year onwards.

The State Government had constituted a High Power Committee headed by retired judge of Orissa High Court Justice AK Mishra for making necessary recommendation regarding the reservation of seats.
