Odisha: CM Naveen launches over 1500 projects worth Rs 1,805 crore in Angul

Angul: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched over 1500 projects under various welfare programmes in Angul district.

Attending a public meeting at Angul Stadium, Patnaik received a warm welcome from women associated with different Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the district.

He announced to provide to total Rs 242 crore loan under Mission Shakti programme benefitting more than 75,000 women in the district.

The CM launched and laid foundation stones of total 1541 projects worth Rs 1,805 crore during his one-day visit to Angul district today.

Speaking on the occasion, the he said, “Angul district is leading in the field of industries for which Rs 800 crore will be invested. The state cabinet has approved a proposal of Rs 350 crore for supplying drinking water to 48 Gram Panchayats in the district. The government will set up two mega drinking water projects at cost of Rs 358 crore in Angul and Banarpal Blocks benefitting total 2,36,000 people (1.66 lakh in Angul and 70,000 in Banarpal) in the district. Both the drinking water projects will be completed within two years.”

Besides, the state government is considering to provide Rs 50,000 crore loan to women under Mission Shakti during next five years.

Assembly Deputy Speaker Rajani Kant Singh and Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahoo also addressed during the event.
