Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik not to celebrate Raksha Bandhan this year

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will not celebrate Raksha Bandhan this year, an official release of the state government said.

Patnaik appealed to the people and party workers not to throng his residence to greet him on this occasion.

He wished the people of the state for Raksha Bandhan and advised them to celebrate the festival with adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour.

Worth mentioning, Patnaik has not been celebrating major festivals for the last couple of years due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

In pre-COVID era, the CM used to skip celebrations due to natural calamities and disasters.
