Bhubaneswar: Hours after fire broke out at a private hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack city today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered a high-level probe into the incident.
The Chief Minister asked Director General Fire and Emergency Service Sudhansu Sarangi to probe the incident.
He also asked the Fire Service department to ensure the strict implementation of fire safety measures at hospitals and other health facilities in the state.
The Chief Minister has expressed concern over the mishap and asked the Health Department and Cuttack Collector to ensure proper treatment for the patients who have been evacuated from the private hospital.
The state government will bear the expenses of their treatment, said the Chief Ministers’ Office (CMO) in a statement.
Notably, fire broke out at the third floor of Trisha Hospital, located in Purighat area of the Silver City, in the afternoon.
The hospital authorities evacuated the patients, including 12 newborns and sent them to SCB Medical College and Hospital and other health facilities in Cuttack.
