Odisha CM terms allegation of CBI grilling as ‘absolute nonsense’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today rubbished the allegation of being questioned by the CBI in the past in connection with the chit fund scam.

BJP Legislature Party Leader and Patnagarh MLA KV Singh Deo had earlier alleged that the CM was quizzed by the central investigating agency in the past over the scam.

On being asked by mediapersons about Singh Deo’s allegation, the CM rejected it terming the same as “absolute nonsense”.

On the other hand, Singh Deo also said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seeking consultation with Naveen Patnaik in the CBI-police face-off incident indicates that both of them were involved in the chit fund scam.

“No one from TMC has been in contact with us for at least one year. Our party statement yesterday had to do with events in our state. We would like CBI to do a professional and non-political job,” Patnaik said on being asked if there has been any communication with the West Bengal Chief Minister over CBI matter.
