Bhubaneswar: A day after CBSE cancelled Class-10 Examination-2021 in view of worsening pandemic situations in the second wave of COVID-19 across the country, the State Government will take a crucial decision today on holding of the annual Matric Board Examination for safety of students in Odisha.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will make an important announcement on the High School Certificate (HSC) Examination-2021 today, informed School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
The annual HSC Examination for the year 2021 is scheduled be conducted by the Board of Secondary Examination (BSE), Odisha, from May 3 to May 15.
Odisha has been witnessing steep hike in COVID-19 cases everyday since March last week.
Yesterday, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had announced the cancellation of CBSE Class-10 Examination and deferment of Class-12 Examination following a high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister reiterated that the well-being of the students has to be the top priority for the Government. He also stated that the Centre would keep in mind the best interests of the students and ensure that their health is taken care of at the same time their academic interests are not harmed, Pokhriyal had tweeted.
