Bhubaneswar: The grievance cell of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will remain closed on July 8 (Monday).

The state government has announced July 8 as a holiday for Rath Jatra. So, the grievance cell of the Chief Minister will remain closed on Monday, said the General Administration and Public Grievance Department today.

Notably, the Nabajouban Darshan and Netrostav rituals of Lord Jagannath are scheduled to be held on the day of Rath Jatra at Puri on July 7 (Sunday). As a result, the chariot pulling will continue on July 8.

Taking this into consideration, the Chief Minister announced two-day holiday for this year’s Rath Jatra.

As per the announcement, government offices, courts and banking institutions will remain closed on July 8.

After taking charge as Odisha Chief Minister, Majhi had announced that he would hear people’s grievances on every Monday.
