Angul: Body parts of the fourth and final missing person in the coal mine mishap in Odisha's Talcher has been recovered.

A leg and some internal organs of deceased Ramesh Das of Lakeipasi village were recovered from the spot. Those were handed over to his family members after post-mortem. Das was working as a security guard at the coal mine.

Earlier, bodies and body parts of three others-- Pupun Biswal (driver), Rashmi Ranjan Behera (supervisor) and Raj Kishore (pump khalasi)-- were recovered.

The accident occurred following a strata collapse on July 23 at the Bharatpur opencast mining project in the Talcher Coalfields of state-run Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL).

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.
