Odisha: College girl ends life after fight with sister over clothes  

Kendrapara: Fight between two sisters over a trivial issue claimed the life of one of them at Baro village in Kendrapara district.

The deceased identified as Monalisha was an ardent learner of classical music and studying in Kasinath Mohavidyalaya at Kaipada in Jajpur.

Sources said Monalisha and her younger sister were learning classical music at Bhabagrahi Kala Niketan here. Both were supposed to go to Cuttack with their teacher at around 11 AM yesterday. However, the duo  started fighting over clothes. In a fit of rage, Monalisha attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of the house.

She was immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) and later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Monali had performed during Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to the district on December 8.
