Odisha: College student stabs his classmate in State Capital following verbal duel

Bhubaneswar: A male student of a college under Badagada police limits in Bhubaneswar allegedly stabbed his classmate today after they had an altercation over a matter, which has not been known yet.

The injured was identified as Biswajeet Swain, who is a Plus III Second-Year student in the college.

The accused was identified as Chandan Panda, who happens to be a classmate of victim Biswajeet.

According to a senior police official, Biswajeet and Chandan were on their way home after appearing in their exams earlier in the day and both indulged in an argument with each other. However, things took an ugly turn when Chandan in a fit of rage stabbed his classmate with a sharp weapon-like object.

Biswajeet was rescued by some locals and sent to hospital for treatment and is said to be critical.

On being informed, Badagada police reached the spot and launched a probe, which is underway.
