Odisha Cong criticises BJD for supporting Ashwini Vaishnaw’s candidature to Rajya Sabha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress today criticised the ruling BJD for supporting the candidature of BJP-fielded Ashwini Vaishnaw to Rajya Sabha. State in-charge of the party Ajoy Kumar reiterated his claim that BJP and BJD do have a strategic alliance behind the screen, which often gets reflected in their actions.

Taking to his personal ‘X’ handle, the Odisha Congress in-charge wrote, “BJP-BJD bonhomie! The ‘Tactical Larger plan’ of the two erstwhile ‘married alliance’ is on the move! ‘BJD always backed BJP’ Now, the Odias understand why CBI-ED never conducted a raid on the CM and his close aide Mr Pandian even though the State witnessed ‘Massive Scams’. 👇 @RahulGandhi @kharge @INCOdisha”

Worth mentioning, the ruling BJD earlier announced the names of its two official candidates to Rajya Sabha. Suspense brewed thereafter about the third candidate’s name, which was not then declared.

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Sambalpur to inaugurate the new campus of IIM on February 3, Ajoy Kumar launched a scathing attack on the ‘so-called’ Opposition BJP and ruling BJD. He termed the association of both political parties in the State as that of ‘husband and wife’.

“The Prime Minister visited Sambalpur today and you might have noticed that he did not utter a single word against BJD. I have been saying since long back that they (BJP and BJD) have got married. Their honeymoon is still going on. BJP here pretends to attack. Better you ask what sort of a relationship is this?” Ajoy Kumar had previously questioned while speaking to mediapersons.
