Bhadrak, Apr 12:

A delegation of the Congress led by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan today visited communal strife-torn Bhadrak town to take stock of the situation.

Prasad accompanied by former OPCC presidents Niranjan Patnaik and Jayadev Jena visited affected areas and spoke to the local residents during his visit. The delegation appealed to the residents to maintain peace and harmony.

“Some unruly, intolerant and impatient individuals have caused this. Perhaps this could have been avoided. But probably due to the overconfidence of the district administration proper measures were not taken which led to this discord,” said former OPCC president and senior Congress leader Niranjan Patnaik talking to reporters.
