Odisha Congress calls for strike on Nov 12 demanding Minister’s scalp

Bhubaneswar: Demanding dismissal of Minister of State Dibya Shankar Mishra over Mamita Meher murder case the Odisha Pradesh Congress today called for a state-wide strike on November 12.

As per a decision taken during the executive committee meeting of the Pradesh Congress, the State-wide strike will be observed if Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik does not sack Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra in next 10 days. The Congress has also been demanding a criminal case against Mishra as well as his arrest.

OPCC Chief Niranjan Patnaik appealed the people of the State to give full support to the State-wide strike on November 12.

PCC Vice President Ganeshwara Behera accused the Chief Minister of shielding the criminals. He asked the Chief Minister why he has not removed Mishra from the Council of Ministers yet. Even if there are enough evidences to substantiate the Minister’s involvement in Mamita Meher murder case, a case has not been lodged against Mishra, the OPCC Vice President said.
