Odisha Congress MLA commits Rs 50 lakh funds to fight Corona

Bhubaneswar: Extending support to the state Government in the fight against coronavirus pandemic, Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati today pledged Rs 50 lakh from his MLALAD funds to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

In a letter to Koraput Collector, Bahinipati stated that his MLALAD funds for the year 2020-21 will be utilized to combat the spread of the deadly virus in his constituency, Jeypore.

“I request you to sanction the funds to Koraput Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) for installation of ventilators and purchase of other equipment relating to COVID-19 for the district headquarters hospital (DHH),” he wrote.

Earlier, Koraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka pledged Rs 1 crore from his MPLAD funds for tackling of COVID-19 in Rayagada and Koraput districts.
