Odisha: Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja’s son held in assault case

Balangir: The police in Balangir district today arrested Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja’s son Seji Singh in connection with an assault case at Kantabanji here.

The police have booked the legislator’s son under Sections 384, 506 and 353 of the IPC and various sections of the Arms Act.

According to sources, some people had created a ruckus inside Alishan Cinema Hall at Kantabanji a few days ago. The Congress MLA’s son was present at the cinema hall during the ruckus.

The legislator’s son reportedly got engaged in an argument with the police during the ruckus. A purported video of the incident went viral on social media.

Some miscreants allegedly entered the cinema hall today and attacked its owner’s son. “The assault on the cinema hall owner’s son is the fallout of the ruckus caused by some people at the theatre a few days ago,” said a source.

Notably, a purported video of the Congress MLA’s face-off with Balangir Collector Chanchal Rana had gone viral on social media some days ago.
