Bhubaneswar, Apr 1:
Congress student wing National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) today took out a rally in Bhubaneswar to teach Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik the language of the state.
Armed with ‘Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha’ (the most popular Odia prime), chalk, duster, pen, handwriting pads and other educational stuff, the Congress supporters staged a March to Naveen Nivas – the Chief Minister’s residence.
On their way, they clashed with the police after the cops attempted to stop the rally near Sishu Bhavan square of the city.
While no one was injured from either side, dozens of NSUI members along with their leader Itish Pradhan were arrested.
Curiously though, some of the banners and posters the students were carrying had a distorted version of Odia alphabet on them — as can be seen in the picture here.
