Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of Congress is seemingly gearing up for the all-important 2019 Assembly Elections in the state as the party has decided to launch its poll campaign from January 9.
An announcement in this regard was made at an organisational meeting of all Zonal Presidents of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) held here today on the occasion of 134th Foundation Day of the Indian National Congress (INC).
The Odisha Congress has decided to focus more on Zilla Parishad zones instead of districts for the 2019 polls, a move similar to that of INC's strategy in Chhattisgarh where it won the recently concluded Assembly Elections.
OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said the election manifesto of the party will be finalised by February, 2019. He said the manifesto will be prepared basing on the feedback received from the general public.
A website will also be launched for receiving suggestions in this regard till January 15, he added.
