Odisha constabulary threatens to go on strike from Sept 23

Cuttack, Sep 11:

The Odisha Havildar Constable and Sipahi Mahasangh today announced to resort to cease work beginning  September 23.

“Our members will wear black badges on September 21 and 22 as a mark of token protest. If the government fails to fulfill our six-point charter of demands which include abolition of contractual appointments, differences in salary and allowances, appointment of Class IV employees etc; 60,000 policemen across the state will resort to cease work from September 23. We will continue with our agitation till our demands are met with,” informed Mahasangh’s president Prasant Kumar Mahapatra at a press meet held at the Mahasangh’s office in Buxi Bazar here today.

The Mahasangh’s general secretary Kishore Kumar Mohanty, treasurer Sanjay Kumar Bal, organization secretary Satyasish Tropathy, joint secretary Hrushikesh Parida among others were present at the press meet.
