Odisha continues to boil as 25 districts record temperature above 40 degree C; warning for 11 districts today

With 45 degree Celsius, Boudh district remains the hottest in the state.

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha continued to sizzle with blistering heatwave condition, eights places across the state recorded 44 degree Celsius and above yesterday with Boudh district remaining the hottest with 45 degree Celsius .

Besides, the mercury crossed 43 degree Celsius in as many as 13 places yesterday.

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, 25 out of the 30 districts recorded the maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above during the period.

The weathermen predicted that the heatwave condition will continue in the state for three more days and advised people to take precautionary measures while going outside between 11 am and 3 pm.

For today, the MeT Centre issued heatwave warning for as many as 11 districts– Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Angul.

“There will be no significant change in the temperature for the next two days and it will remain three to five degree Celsius above normal in many parts of the interior districts,” the weathermen added.
