Odisha continues to shiver under intense cold; 11 places record below 10 degree C

Bhubaneswar: With the minimum temperature continued to drop across the state, as many as 11 places stood below 10 degree Celsius in past 24 hours.

Sonepur and Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 6.0 degree Celsius followed by Angul (6.6 degree C) and Titilagarh (7.1 degree C).

The cold wave conditions also continued in Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Talcher, Bhawanipatna and Koraput that recorded 9.4 degree C,  9.1 degree C, 9.6 degree C, 9.7 degree C, 8.5 degree C and 9.0 degree C respectively.

Meanwhile, mild frost was witnessed in Daringbadi where the minimum temperature was 7.5 degree C in last 24 hours. The light frost was also found in Similipal area of Mayurbhanj district in the morning.

Similarly, the mercury dropped at other stations including Balasore (10.5 degree C), Baripada (10.5 degree C), Hiarkud (10.4 degree C), Balangir (10.0 degree C) and Malkangiri (10.2 degree C).

Twin City Cuttack and Bhubaneswar had minimum temperature of 10.5 degree C and 11.4 degree C respectively.
