Odisha cop hangs himself, suicide note claims work stress

A police sub-inspector (SI) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his official residence in Balasore district today.

The deceased was identified as Jagannath Nayak, 42, former SI of Basta police station.

Police recovered a suicide note near the body which claims that Nayak took the extreme step due to work pressure.

According to report, the SI was transferred to Mangalpur police station in Jajpur district two months ago. He was at Basta to handover charge after his joining at Mangalpur police station.
