Odisha cop killed in road mishap

Bargarh, July 16:

A police officer was killed in a road accident near Rengali camp in Odisha’s Bargarh district this morning.

According to reports, Balabhadra Tripathy, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Atabira police station, was on the way with Special Police Officer (SPO) Shankar Majhi to investigate a case when he lost control of the bike he was driving near Rengali camp that skidded off the road and hit the railway iron railings.

While Tripathy died on the spot, Majhi was rushed to VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla where his condition was stated to be critical.

Talking to the media persons, Baragrh SDPO Amarendra Rana said the body of the ASI had been brought to the district headquarters hospital and will be handed over to the family members after the post mortem.
