Behera an ASI was suspended after a complaint in this regard was lodged by the victim at the Pattamundai police station, reports said. He has been arrested and is being interrogated by the police, reports added.

“He (Mahendra Behera) had called me to come to the outpost yesterday in the night to attend patrolling duty. Since the van in which we were supposed to go for patrolling didn’t arrive from the police station he asked me to sleep near him. I had refused to sleep beside him. He, however, forced me to sleep beside him and during the night he committed unnatural sex with me,” said the victim.
