Odisha cops arrest siblings for killing sister in Cuttack

Cuttack: Two days after the gruesome murder of a woman here, Odisha cops today arrested the siblings of the deceased for their alleged complicity in the crime.

As per reports, the brother and siter of the deceased have been arrested for allegedly murdering Nilima Sha of Bangali Sahi near Shelter Chowk here on Sunday morning.

The arrested have been identified as Somnath Saha and Purnima Kundu.

Worth mentioning, 40-year-old spinster Nilima was found brutally murdered inside her house.

Following the incident, the family members had filed an FIR mentioning three miscreants entering their house and attacking Purnima and Nilima after Somnath left the house in the wee hours on that fateful day.

The 36-year-old Purnima had told police that the miscreants attack the sisters owing which she lost consciousness. After she gained consciousness, she found her elder sister in a pool of blood.

Police had detained Somnath and Purnima on suspicion.

After investigation and scanning CCTV footage, police arrested the sibling duo today.
