Bhubaneswar: Following the defeat of BJD in the just concluded Assembly polls in Odisha, chairpersons of various government corporations and boards have started putting down their papers.
Sangram Keshari Paikaray, the chairperson of Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board, has resigned from his post on June 9.
Paikaray had been appointed as the chief of the Khadi Board by the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha around two years ago.
Similarly, Chinmoy Kumar Sahoo, the chairperson of Odisha Small Industries Corporation (OSIC) Limited, too submitted his resignation today.
Sahoo had also been appointed as the chief of the OSIC by the BJD government in 2022.
Sahoo sent his resignation to Chief Secretary PK Jena. In his resignation letter, Sahoo highlighted that the OSIC has touched a new height of glory in terms of turnover as well as profit during his tenure.
Notably, the BJD failed to win the 2024 Assembly polls in Odisha. The party managed to secure only 51 Assembly seats of the total 147 in Odisha.
The BJP got at least 78 Assembly seats while 14 seats went to the Congress party and four to the independent nominees.
