Odisha: Couple dies while coming to see grandson in hospital

Athagarh: In an extremely unfortunate turn of events, an elderly couple died after they were hit by a vehicle in Athargarh in Odisha’s Cuttack district today.

They were coming to see their ailing grandson at Athagarh hospital when the mishap took place. The family’s grief turned even more tragic as the bodies were brought to the same hospital where the couple was heading to visit their grandson.

As per reports, the husband and wife were coming to see their daughter’s son who was admitted at Athagarh hospital when a speeding car hit them near Sital Bhandar in Chirugudia. Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo belonged to Jhumpudia in Dhenkanal Sadar. Locals rushed them to Athargarh hospital but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

A case has been registered and investigation underway, official sources informed.
