Odisha couple killed by nephew; bodies recovered from well

Balangir: Property dispute in a family turned uglier as a youth allegedly murdered his uncle and aunt and dumped their bodies in well at Kutrabeda village under Bangomunda block in Balangir district.

The deceased couple was identified as Trilochan Nag and his wife Seema Nag.

According to reports, the accused Kushadhar Nag attacked Trilochan Nag and aunt Seema Nag with a sharp weapon while his uncle was playing cards last night. Later, he allegedly dumped the bodies in a well.

The bodies were recovered by police from a well near the couple’s house on Saturday morning.

A report was lodged with police alleging that someone has thrown bodies into a well after murder. Based on the complaint, the police rushed to the site and recovered the bodies. One person identified as Kushadhar Nag has been detained in connection with the double murder case. The accused is a carpenter by occupation and he used a sharp weapon for murder, said SDPO Saroj Kumar Mohapatra.

The family of deceased alleged Kushadhar Nag and his parents of killing Trilochan and Seema over a property dispute.

“Kusha Nag and his parents Trinath Nag, Maluni Nag and his brother Luv Nag were always indulged into quarrel with my parents over property dispute. They were threatening my parents to kill and finally they did it. Last night, Kusha Nag along with his father attacked my father and mother with a knife and threw the bodies into the well,” said Gomati Nag, the daughter of deceased couple.
