Odisha couple throws party for stray dogs on wedding day

Bhubaneswar: People love to celebrate weddings by hosting a big feast or party for their near and dear ones because many consider it as a way to pay back to the society. But what’s about celebrating wedding in a unique way by feeding the stray animals. Yes, a couple from Odisha chose this unique way during their big day.

Eureka Apta and Joanna Wang got married on September 25 in Bhubaneswar and they fed more than 500 stray dogs in the city with the help of an animal rescue organisation, Animal Welfare Trust Ekamra (AWTE). While the couple exchanged vows at a temple near Tangi, the animal rescue organisation fed the stray dogs.

Pilot-turned-filmmaker Apta and his dentist wife Joanna Wang told NDTV.com they got inspired with the work being done by the AWTE and decided to celebrate their wedding differently.

A local said if everyone starts thinking the way as similar to Apta and Wang, a change will happen in this world and that will make a difference to the lives of many stray animals.
