Odisha court allows Vig to take Sambalpur jailor on 3-day remand

Sambalpur: The Additional District and Sessions Judge Court here allowed Odisha Vigilance to take arrested Jailor of Sambalpur Circle Jail Susant Kumar Rout on a three-day remand for further interrogation.

While the anti-corruption wing had sought the court to take Rout on a five-day remand for further interrogation, the court allowed Vigilance three days remand, reports said.

Rout’s remand period will start from tomorrow, reports added.

It may be recalled here that Rout was arrested by the Vigilance on Friday after he failed to account for the huge cash haul from his office chamber.

Notably, over Rs 18 lakh was seized from Rout’s official chamber during a surprise raid at the jail on June 4.
