Satyam’s counsel Manas Chand had filed the bail petition on behalf of his client before the court.

Satyam, ‘son’ of controversial godman Srimad Sarathi Dev alias Sarathi Baba, who had gone missing since the day the Baba hit the headlines for his alleged nefarious activities, was arrested by Crime Branch police from Mumbai and brought back to Odisha capital on August 19.

A two-member team of the Crime Branch located him in Mumbai after tracking his mobile phone and arrested him a day before he was brought to Bhubaneswar.

The Crime Branch had taken him on a three-day remand and is presently lodged in Choudwar Circle Jail after his remand period ended. The CB did not take him on further remand for interrogation. He will be again produced before the SDJM court on September 2.
