Adjudicating over the petition filed by Jena, the Senior Civil Court Judge SK Mishra put restriction on the telecast of the controversial video.

“The court today put an interim stay on the telecast of the sex tape,” Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Mayor Anant Narayan Jena said.

Jena had prayed the court that he holds a high position as Mayor and it is an attempt by unscrupulous elements to tarnish his image taking refuge of a sex video.

The telecast of the video featuring a man having semblance with him is damaging his reputation. If it continues to be aired then it would cause an irreparable damage to his repute, he said.

“We don’t have any allegation against any television channel. Our sole allegation is against Itish Pradhan and Pradeep Pandey who is the proprietor of niankhunta.com. They have manufactured such video to blackmail and damage the reputation of my client. As this tape is being telecast on various television channels as news items, it is damaging the image of my client,” Jena’s counsel Sitanshu Mohan Dwibedi said.

The court has posted the next hearing in the case to December 28.

It may be mentioned here that the Mayor today held a press conference here surrounded by his supporters and party parliamentarians including Prasanna Patasani and AB Swamy.
