Cuttack, May 26:

The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here today upheld its previous order on shifting of gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta (D-brothers) from Choudwar Circle Jail to two separate jails in the state.

D-brothers

Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police had filed a petition in the SDJM court on March 1 seeking transfer of the criminal duo from Choudwar Circle Jail to elsewhere for security reasons. On March 11, the court had allowed the Odisha police to shift Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta from Choudwar Circle Jail to two separate jails in the state.

While elder brother Sushant was shifted to Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar, younger brother Sushil was shifted to Balasore Jail. The duo had than filed a petition in the Orissa High Court seeking reconsideration of the lower court’s order.

Hearing the petition, the High Court had asked the SDJM court to scrap its order and reconsider it. The SDJM court today reviewed its earlier order on shifting of D-brothers to other jails and upheld its directive.
