Odisha Crime Branch begins probe into DWO suicide case

Rayagada, Feb 20:

A three-member team of the Odisha Crime Branch police, led by DSP Ramesh Chandra Sethi, today began investigation into the suicide of Dhaneswar Prusty, the District Welfare Officer (DWO) at his office on February 17.

Crime Branch team at DWO office in RayagadaSources said, the team went to the Rayagada Town Police station and discussed with the IIC Kapileswar Behera.
The team later went to the DWO office for an on-the-spot investigation.

It may be mentioned that the state government had ordered a Crime Branch probe a day after the incident after the wife of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police.
