“The Crime Branch, which will interrogate Satyam, has been searching for him since last three days. His whereabouts is not yet known. He has switched off his mobile phone,” Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma said.

Even Satyam’s associates in the ashram and his kin have no knowledge about his whereabouts.

The Crime Branch sleuths, in course of investigation, have come to know that the Satyam Charitable Trust was formed for namesake only as it was run under the direct control of Sarathi Baba who was spending the money from the Trust lavishly for him and his son.

The Trust used to receive huge donations while the Baba used to encourage the donors to donate in cash. He used to accept the donation in cash inside his room in the ashram. The Trust had neither provided the money receipt to the major donors and nor these donors had the guts the claim the receipt.

Most of the amounts received were not deposited in the Trust account as they were gobbled up by the father-son duo.

Sources in the Crime Branch said the Sarathi Baba had planned to make his son Satyam as his predecessor.

Satyam, who was staying in the ashram, used to take huge money from his father and spend it by staying in star hotels and enjoying good food.

The Crime Branch sleuths, after the arrest of Sarathi Baba, had wanted to interrogate Satyma as he was always with his father and must have known his other activities.

Suspecting that Satyam is either hiding somewhere or gone outside the state, the Crime Branch has launched a massive manhunt to trace him out.
