Crime Branch IG Yogesh Bahadur Khurania told newsmen on Thursday that although Sabyasachi’s nine day remand ends on Friday they will move the court the same day to seek an extension of his remand for further interrogation in connection of his role in the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.

The IGP said the voice track of the interrogation of Sabyasachi has been recorded and the audio has been sent to a lab for examination. The Crime Branch has an audio clip of Sabyasachi where he claims to have murdered Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. This will be matched the audio recordings done during the interrogation, he added.

Maoist leader Sabyasachi was taken on a 9-day remand by the state Crime Branch police on July 30 after he was produced before the SDJM court at Nayagarh the same day.
