Odisha: Cyclonic circulation likely to emerge in South Andaman Sea, neighbourhood November 26

Bhubaneswar: Due to a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 27th November, light to moderate rain and/or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha districts during the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “A Cyclonic Circulation is likely to emerge in South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood by 26th November. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 27th November. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal around 29th November, 2023.”

Dense fog occurred at one or two places over Phulbani, and shallow to moderate fog occurred at one or two places over Angul, Bhawanipatna and Rourkela of Odisha.

Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at a few places and above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

Temperature Forecast: No major change in Minimum (night) temperature during next 4 to 5 days over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 32.0°C was recorded at Jajpur, Paralakhemundi and Khordha and the lowest minimum temperature of 15.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

For Saturday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Sunday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.11.2023)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
