Odisha declares 10456 hectares as pest-affected, orders relief measures

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has declared 10456.64 hectares of farmland in the state as pest-affected and directed the concerned authorities to undertake relief measures.

As per field verification reports submitted by the District Collectors, an area of 10456.64 hectares in 1567 villages under 319 Gram Panchayats of 15 Blocks and 15 wards of 4 ULBs in 2 districts have sustained crop loss of 33 percent and above due to pest attack.

The State Government has authorised the Collectors of the concerned districts to undertake relief measures in the notified area.
