Odisha Development Commissioner, 5T Secy inspect COVID-19 hospitals in 3 districts

Malkangiri: As part of the scheduled review of arrangements made to combat coronavirus, Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra and 5T Secretary VK Pandian today visited the COVID-19 hospital in Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.

The officials flew to Malkangiri and landed at BSF NV-3 helipad at around 10.30 this morning. From there, they headed to the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) that has been recently upgraded to a full-fledged COVID-19 hospital. They minutely overviewed all the necessary arrangements at the hospital, starting from total number of beds allotted for the infected patients to the number of ventilators stationed for emergency cases and ICU facilities.

During their visit to Jeypore COVID-19 hospital in Koraput,  the two officials met district Collector Madhusudan Mishra, who  informed them that out 353 samples collected in the districts, 168 cases turned out negative so far while reports of rest are yet to come.

Besides, the bureaucrats also visited the standalone COVID-19 hospital in Nabarangpur, The hospital with 200 beds is being operated from the Govt  BEd College. It is is managed by Christian Hospital and the district
administration with financial support from NALCO.
