Odisha: Diet allowance for doctors and paramedics at COVID hospitals

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today decided to provide daily diet allowance to doctors and paramedical staff engaged in the government run COVID Care Centres, COVID Health Centres and COVID Hospitals in the State.

In a letter to District Collectors, Superintendents of Medical Colleges and Hospitals, CDMOs and other health officials, Health and Family Welfare Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra said daily diet allowance of Rs 240 will be given to each doctor and paramedical staff engaged in COVID care institutions. The directive should be implemented with immediate effect, the letter added.

The diet allowance will be provided to the doctors and paramedical staff in the form of food and no financial incentives in this regard will be provided, the letter read.

Funds for the diet allowance will be met from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
