Odisha: District Administrations asked to submit expenditure details of TMCs

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today sought expenditure details of temporary medical centres (TMCs) set up in gram panchayat areas from District Administrations. In a letter, Panchayati Raj Department Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh asked Collectors, BDOs and Project Director of DRDAs to submit the expenditure details of the TMCs by June 19.

“In order to maintain the financial propriety and Books of Account, the civil construction work of each TMC should be measured, check measured and total expenditure incurred on all items of work like civil construction, electrification, bed, bathroom, toilet and drinking water shall be assessed (GP wise ,Block wise and District wise ) and be furnished the details of such expenditure to the department within seven days positively,” the letter read.

The district administrations were asked to form a team comprising of BDO, AEE, JEs/ GPTA, GPEO and the Sarpanch of the GP at block level to conduct physical verification of each TMC and quantify the work in physical terms and assess the exact expenditure incurred.

This apart, the expenditure incurred for arrangement of food, personal hygiene kit sanitation, security, two bed sheets and one pillow with cover till May 31, 2020 should be submitted to this Panchayati Raj Department in a separate format, it stated.

At present, 16,813 numbers of TMCs have been setup in the State.

The State government has allocated Rs 5 lakh out of CFC/ SFC fund available with the GPs for setting up the TMCs in each GP for institutional quarantine of the returnees.
