Odisha: DL to be suspended if pillion rider found without helmet

Bhubaneswar: Be aware two-wheeler riders! The driving licence (DL) of a rider will be suspended if the pillion rider will be found without helmet in Odisha.

Strictly enforcing the new MV Act in Odisha, the State Transport Authority (STA) informed it in a tweet today.

Worth mentioning that the authorities have made wearing helmets compulsory for pillion riders from March 1.

Earlier, the STA had stated that strong action will be taken against violators for not wearing the helmet on the two-wheeler.

Recently, the RTO, Bhubaneswar has suspended 97 DLs of riders for not wearing helmets in the period of 10 days in the city.
