Odisha: Dreaded Maoist lays down arms in Rourkela

Rourkela: A dreaded Maoist today surrendered before Rourkela SP K. Siva Subramani. The Maoist, Poga Surin alias Suman of Sonapi village of Jharkhand laid down arms at the Rourkela SP office in presence of CRPF officials.

Surin joined the ultras in 2013 and worked as a joint commander. However, due to mismatch in his ideologies with that of Maoists, Surin left the red rebels organization in 2015. He then worked in factories Raigad and Tatanagar to sustain his family.

He joined the Maoist organization back in 2018 and worked under the Sundergarh-Deogarh-Sambalpur division of CPI(Maoist).
