Odisha earmarks Rs 1800 crore for KALIA in Agri Budget-2021

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has allocated Rs 1800 crore for Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) in the Agriculture Budget-2021, which was tabled in the Assembly by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari today.

Prioritising farmer welfare and empowerment, the Odisha Government made allocation of Rs 17,469 crore for agriculture and allied activities in the budget.

Among other major allocations in the agriculture sector, Rs 819 crore has been sanctioned towards interest subvention on crop loans to co-operative and commercial banks, Rs 454 crore towards subsidy, Rs 106 crore for Odisha Millet Mission, Rs 1,415 crore for Fisheries & Animal Resources Development sector, and Rs 137 crore for development of Brackish Water Aquaculture, Marine Fisheries, Intensive Aquaculture, and Inland Fisheries.
