Odisha: Electronics and IT department principal secretary Manoj Mishra quits post

Bhubaneswar: Manoj Kumar Mishra, principal secretary to Electronics and IT department in Odisha, has resigned from his post.

The state government has accepted the resignation of Mishra with effect from June 4, said an office order of the General Administration department.

The Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government had appointed Mishra as the Principal Secretary to the Electronics and Information Technology department on a contractual basis following his resignation from the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) in 2022.

Mishra, a 2000-batch IRTS officer, was on deputation to Odisha and was acting as the secretary to the same department prior to his resignation from the All India Service.

Notably, two retired IAS officers, who were acting as advisors to the Odisha government, have also resigned from their posts.

Former Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, who was acting as the chief advisor to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), has tendered resignation from his post.

Similarly, retired IAS officer R. Balakrishnan, who was acting as the chief advisor (Special Initiatives) to the state government, has also resigned from his post.

They have resigned from their posts following the defeat of the BJD in the hands of BJP in the just concluded Assembly polls in Odisha.
